On your front doorstep is the safety & seclusion of a private beach with space to run. The perfect environment for all ages & ideal for kayaking, learning to swim or exploring the sea life. Learn to fish off the nearby wharf.

From sunrise to sunset, its hard not to appreciate the natural beauty of your surroundings. Feed the ducks in the morning, wander through the Kauri Forest after breakfast, take a short and very scenic drive to walk around the picturesque headland by day and sip a cool drink on the deck as the sun sets.

Whether you enjoy a relaxing holiday reading books or a more active experience it is all here—kayaking, swimming, boating, fishing & diving trips (by prior arrangement), days walks, surf, - the choice is yours.

Seclusion does no necessarily mean remoteness. Should you want a hearty meal and a cold  beer or old fashioned fish & chips the local Tavern and local Cafe are both only a few minutes drive away while finer dining is available through out the area.

From Whangarei, follow signs to Whangarei Heads. Pass Parua Bay tavern and take the second right into Parua Cemetery Rd. Follow to the beach - the cottage is on your right.

Only 20 minutes from Whangarei township and 2 hours 30 minutes from Auckland along State Highway 1 make this a convenient getaway.

Getting away does not mean leaving it all behind. You have access to SkyTV, Wireless Internet, an Open Fire, Fully Self Contained Historic Cottage, Boat Mooring (up to 10m), ample parking and are able to bring the family pet.

Conditions: Minimum two (2) night stay. Guests arriving during ‘Off Season’ stays may arrive Friday afternoons/evenings and leave Sunday afternoons (by prior arrangement).
